Rick Hightower is our Chief Technical Officer. Rick brings over fifteen years of development experience. Rick is the author of several development books from titles ranging from Jakarta Struts to Agile development; one book was a best seller on Amazon under the category Software Development for three months.
Rick frequently speaks at developer conventions like JavaOne, No Fluff Just Stuff developer serires, JDJEdge, XPUniverse, AgileUniverse, TheServerSide Symposium, and is considered an expert in applying the Agile Method to J2EE development.
Prior to working at ArcMind, Rick was the CTO of Trivera Technologies, a global consulting, mentoring and training firm with offices in the US and Europe. Rick is still involved with Trivera Technologies in an advisory role.
Prior to working at Trivera Technologies, Rick was the Director of Development at eBlox. Rick started as a principal software engineer, but based on his vision and drive he was quickly promoted to Director of Development. At eBlox under Rick's guidance, the development team switched to using the Agile Method (eXtreme Programming applied to J2EE). The eBlox team developed an Application Service Provider framework built on top of J2EE, Struts, and EJB CMP CMR that helped them develop 2,000 online stores for the promotional marketing industry. Rick is still on the board of directors of eBlox, and has a vested interest in the success of eBlox.
Before eBlox, Rick worked on an EJB container as an Architect, and later as the Director of Architecture. Prior to that, Rick was working in an R&D department at Intel, investigating Enterprise Java Applications. Rick was considered "the Java Expert at Intel". Prior to being "the Java Expert at Intel", Rick spent quite a few years working in factory automation at Intel and Read-Rite where he won many awards for his designs and team leadership skills, and had a reputation for finishing quality projects ahead of schedule.

He is also responsible for providing marketing and sales information as well as Project Management for existing projects currently in process.
